3 May 2016 - Week 25: Opposition in all things

Bonjour tout le monde!

Just to let y'all know, I totally started typing an email that was awesome, but then it disappeared and I have no idea where it went. So now my email is going to be lamer and shorter than I wanted it to be! Sorry!

Hey guess what! Today is my 6 month mark! Only one year left! WHAT. Time flies!

To explain the subject line, this week was a little discouraging because we didn't end up getting to have lessons with ANY of our progressing amis. WHAT A BUMMER!! We started the week off with high hopes and lots of faith, but then they kept cancelling everything! We just had to keep telling ourselves "opposition in all things!" The bright spot of the week was that we taught our new ami Moise and he's golden! He loves reading and studying and talking about the Gospel. He's had amazing experiences with answers to his prayers and he bore his testimony on Sunday TWICE! He's awesome and we're going to invite him to be baptized VERY SOON.

On Monday, we had a soiree familiale [Family Home Evening] with la famille Ozoux which was awesome because they're from Vanuatu and speak English, French, and Bislama. The whole night they were pretty much speaking Franglais like I do, so I felt very comfortable, haha :)

Yesterday we had our zone meeting in Bourail! IT WAS AWESOME! Bourail is about 2 hours north of Koutio and I got to drive us up there! The drive was beautiful--super green and mountainous, but there were also some flat plains with cows all over. It was super fun to drive up there even though we'd get stuck behind huge, slow-moving camions [trucks] and I was not about to try passing them on those tiny winding roads. I had 5 people's lives in my hands! So sometimes it was slow going, but others, you can just go 110 km/hr and fly [about 68 mph]! Haha, don't worry, I'm a careful driver!

Our zone meeting was great! I love the north zone! It's like a family! And the trainings we had were great--working with inactives, contacting with the sondage, and the key indicators and how to record our stats. At the end, all 17 of us missionaries went out with the sondage and some Livres de Mormon and contacted! In about 20 minutes, we had found 9 people who were interested for the Bourail Elders to follow up with. Soeur Rooarii and I ended up with a coordonnee [referral] as well. Some of the missionaries found someone living in Koutio! Woo hoo!

After the meeting, we drove to the Baie des Tortues [Turtle Bay] and ate lunch and played a little at the beach! It was so beautiful That's where most of my pics are from this week. I love New Cal! I love the north!! I love my mission! And I love you all!

Ta ta! Bisous!
